You know how sometimes things can be on your mind and then at one moment they all just come together in an overwhelming way? Well that happened last night. Me and my mother went over to Janeal's house to watch "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" I have always loved the Chronicles of Narnia but this one really hit me. They are so symbolic of the gospel. In this movie it really showed two different sides. The good and evil. Unlike many other movies with this same plot this one showed how much satan can be in our lives, maybe not with one big battle but little things and thoughts around us all of the time. One quote that really stood out to me was "Be strong...to over come the darkness out there, you must defeat the darkness in yourself." We all have darkness wither it is a simple thought that enters our mind, a negative response to something, or an action that we may regret. We need to over come these things as they are of satan. Another line in the movie that I liked goes something like this- I couldn't do it by myself, I needed him to help me change. How true is that. That only with the lords help can we change and become who we need to be. This all tied right into a talk that was given in a Stake Conference I went to in St. George. The talk was about excepting yourself and seeing yourself through the eyes of god and becoming more like him. Some scriptures were given that I really like were Alma 5: 15-17, 26-30. These have really made me want to take the time to evaluate my life to see what I am doing and how I can be better. At the end of the movie the song "There's a place for us" by Carrie Underwood was played and listening to the words I couldn't hold back my tears:
